Parkinson’s Body and Mind (PBM) is a comprehensive exercise and wellness program for people with PD. This science-based program is offered at local community organizations and is comprised of the following
• Strength Training
The PBM program was designed in collaboration with medical professionals based on scientific research to provide exercise in a safe, supportive local community with instructors who have been trained to work with people with PD. The goal is to improve the symptoms and fight the progression of Parkinson’s Disease. Participants will have regular assessments administered by physical therapists. Results will be used for class placement, motivation and research.
PBM will be holding an Open House Event Saturday, April 8th @ 11:00 AM at YWCA Greenwich, 259 East Putnam Avenue, Greenwich, CT with featured speaker Dr. Alice Rusk, a Greenwich Hospital neurologist and movement disorder specialist. Not sure if it’s for you? Meet our Parkinson’s specialty trained instructors and try a mini class for free. Light refreshments will be served. Open to all people with Parkinson’s Disease and their care partners.
