St. Catherine’s Friends of Music is sponsoring a concert on Sunday, November 10 at 3:00 pm in the Church. Cantor Andrea Howland, mezzo-soprano and her mother, Pamela Howland will perform together. Tickets at door $20. Ages 17 and under free. Praised for her “round, shiny” mezzo-soprano and “flexible, plangent sound,” ANDREA HOWLAND is a New York City-based opera singer with a special interest in new and rare works, art song, and chamber music. PAMELA HOWLAND is a gifted American pianist, Steinway Artist, 2017-18 U.S. Fulbright Scholar to Poland, arranger/composer, and educator based in North Carolina Howland has recorded 17 CDs, has 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and her version of Chopin’s “Farewell Waltz” has nearly 11 million listens. She has recently returned from a short visit as artist-in-residence to the University of Lisbon-Portugal.
