TRUMBULL—The second annual Apple Run 5k/Virtual Run/Walk/Kid’s Candy Apple Fun Run will be held on Saturday, September 14, at St. Catherine of Siena School (200 Shelton Rd., Trumbull CT) in the historic Nichols area of Trumbull, Connecticut. The event is designed for the whole family, appropriate for runners of all levels, and is hosted by St. Catherine of Siena School, a private Catholic school for students in pre-K through 8th grade.
Expect green scenery and rolling hills as you take on the course. The event brings athletes of all ages and abilities together for a computer timed 5K Run/Walk and a shorter untimed walk. The 5K course runs through beautiful and historic Nichols and is perfect for first time 5K runners as well as seasoned athletes.
Children in grade 3 and under participate in the Free Candy Apple Fun Run on the side lawn of the School; all participants in the Free Candy Apple Fun Run will receive a candy apple at the finish of this non-competitive, untimed event! Registration is required.
Participants are encouraged to register online by August 31 for a reduced rate of $25.00. Registration increases to $30.00 on September 1, and is available online until midnight September 12 at that rate. Online signup fees apply.
Walk-in registration is available Friday, September 13, from 2:30pm-6: 30 pm, or on the morning of the race, September 14, at 7:30 am. Walk-in registrations are welcome in the school on both days. Late-registration is $35.00, by cash or check. A short sleeve dri fit t-shirt is guaranteed to those who register on or before September 5, and while supplies last after that.
Food, fluids, and t-shirt included. Post-race refreshments will include an assortment of apple themed baked goods, and of course, apples! It will be a terrific way to start off “Apple Season.”
