Ash Wednesday:The Promise of Redemption & Eternal Life
The St. Matthew on-the-Move Bus is gearing up to meet you where you are on Wednesday, March 1st as Christians worldwide will observe the beginning of Lent — the 40-day period of penitence and self-denial in preparation for Easter — by receiving the sign of the cross marked on their foreheads with ashes, accompanied with the admonition to “remember that you are dust, and to dust you will return.”

“I know people are busy. You’re on the move between work, home and school, so although we’ll be distributing ashes all day at the Church, we’ll be on the move, too. We’ll go where you are during your busy day…traveling to businesses and organizations who ask us to offer their employees ashes. I’m bringing the bus onto the street to offer others a reminder of Ash Wednesday. To give them ashes. To tell them about our great Catholic Church. To invite them in and listen to them.” Msgr. Walter
