In The Heights

IN THE HEIGHTS: The Theatre Arts Program at Sacred Heart University is presenting “In the Heights” in the Edgerton Center as a fundraiser to help those impacted by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood—a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It was the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. 

The writer of this show, Lin Manuel Miranda, has come into the spotlight once again with his musical “Hamilton.” A portion of each ticket purchased will be donated to helping the people of Puerto Rico impacted by this devastating hurricane. The goal for this effort is $10,000.

Performances will be held Thurs.-Sat., April 12-14, at 8 pm and Sun., April 15, at 3 pm
